Christine Meizoso's Biography

Christine is the Director of the 51st Lexington Avenue location. She received her doctoral degree in physical therapy from NYU, and received her professional training working full time as a senior therapist at Columbia Orthopaedics Sports Therapy.
Christine specializes in sports rehabilitation and orthopedics, and strongly believes in an approach that effectively treats each patient with a personalized treatment program designed from a functional movement examination and biomechanics assessment of daily and elite level movement when applicable. Each treatment program is designed to enhance the performance level of each patient, maximize their functional ability, and reach the potential each individual wishes to achieve.
Christine utilizes manual therapy for every patient, incorporating soft tissue mobilization techniques such as myofascial release, strain/counterstrain, muscle energy technique, acupressure, and joint mobilization to improve flexibility, range of motion and decrease pain. Additional components of each treatment program include postural realignment, strengthening, core stabilization, dynamic balance and proprioception training. Her whole body approach treats the cause of the dysfunction, not just the resulting symptoms.
Throughout her career Christine has worked with athletes at all different levels, from the professional athlete to the novice. She has assisted numerous youth athletes, developing specialized programs to prescreen them for potential injuries and risks, while also initiating appropriate pre-, in- and post-season workouts to minimize injuries specific to the following sports: baseball, basketball, tennis/platform tennis, squash, fencing, swimming, dancing, soccer, football and hockey.
Christine has served as a Clinical Instructor for several 3rd year students working towards becoming entry-level therapists, served as a master clinician during the fall and spring semesters for transitional and doctoral NYU students for the past 4 years, and most recently has taken charge of the education program at the 51st street location.
